AC1: Informing Ideas

Existing product Analysis (No:1)

Construction;
Short Documentary, analysis summary:
I've seen how short documentaries have been made, The construction of them involves lots of editing that is effective into that time period such as. Short shots, fast pace editing, music would be upbeat, interviews mixed up with the overall project educational information presented into them shoot too. Slowed down editing and cuts for more dramatic effect, showing the way its created and how the creation looks when presented, for example, it shows his studio and him creating his project and then shows the image of how the final design looks before publishing.

Editing:
Everything was colour graded into the correct colours. This makes sure that the audience is watching something familiar, fast cuts and slow motions involved to build up pace for the audience, music was a major part because some cuts were made on beat. This means that it was time synced while recording or it was planned before however some not. It's better like that because the audience watching can get overwhelmed.

Scene:
Mixed shots, close up's and wide angles involved highly. If they wanted to show the environment wide angles is the way. If they wanted to show emotion and how the person was highly involved in what's going on, interview / making something that was the best decision to go with. When presenting facts/information the editing makes it look seamless and very involved with the interview.

Music: Songs and sounds are highly involved into making the documentary because the audience would want to hear something behind the interview no matter if its ambience or music, therefore lots of music was made for scenes and sounds were foley to sell a diversity of feelings and if the music was used they would have rights onto that track, they'd show that by text format in sans serif font.

Construction;
Long Documentary, analysis summary:
This documentary present how the album "Revenge of The Dreamers III" was created, giving exclusive footage of tracks and artist working together. Highly involved with the overall goal to show how this album came around and why it was created the way it was. The construction of this documentary is similar to other documentaries. The production of this documentary is very well done, colours are efficient and graded correctly, editing pace is mixed depending on the track showed to the audience they have also involved interviews with artists/producers talking about the track being made or previous/future working. Other shots show the working environment with/without people in them, the audience is also shown the working environment and location of where this project took place at (Building/Time) or (Studio/Time).

Editing: The editing was done by multiple people working as a team to be more efficient at it. When credits come you can see the people listed for things such as photography director, by who it was edited, associate producers, sound design/mixing, colourist and many more. This suggests it would be more "professional" then my first example mainly because there is a higher and bigger team working onto this project.

Scene: The scenes were major involved with the setting, there were lots of closes up shots showing people work together or working alone. If the crew wanted to show a project being done and who is involved they will use wide-angle shots showing the full room/everyone involved. They will also connect one to one interviews about the project/other projects creating mini cuts with some clever editing also. The editing crew will educate the audience with who is being interviewed and who the artist is signed by/grouped with. There are interviews with main directors such as Jermain Cole (Co-owner Of Dreamvile) and Matt Mcneal (Dreamville A&R) also with artist while working on projects. Some scenes involved screenshots of media status talking about this event and then it's involved with how people react to it while making music or just make again one-to-one interviews with artist getting their opinion on that situation.

Music: Songs/sound was highly involved as it is a musical documentary overall,
mixing was overwhelming sounds were being panned and exaggerated to create the space and represent how big their working space was but also make some of their audience understand somethings about making music. While playing a track what mixers on this project did was amazing, they synced the song with the finished project to give high-quality sound as the camera recording with microphones won't present the high-quality sound same way as syncing tracks onto the mixer while editing the project. There was clear foley sound involved with pictures being presented onto the screen while someone is talking in the background or when video effects are coming presently to set off an emotion through sound and link well with the image being watched.
