Cutaways shots (Skills Development)
CUTAWAY SHOTS
Main purpose of creating a cutaway is normally to present the audience with differential type of shot, because watching a similar clip over and over again with large depth presented is not very nice to the eye especially while trying to entertain a majority type of audience.
Some people use cutaways in a specific way to correct or cover up mistakes done on set, for example if something interrupted your frame while recording you can simply involve a cut away in post production to correct that or even create a seamless transition.
Another main way of entertaining audience is where you can identify major information through setting up a close shot, there is multiple examples of close shots such as. Close up, Extreme close up, mid shots and regular close up.
